Subject: Last Stage Of Flica Automation

We are very pleased to announce that on April 9th the last stage of FLICA automation will be moved into production. This step will allow for automated processing of Drops and Swaps in conjunction with the daily Open Time award at 18:00. For you, the crewmember, the change will be seamless as you will continue to submit requests in the same fashion as you do today. The following is a recap of the processes with FLICA that have been automated and the timing of each.

Open Time Folder

Commencing at noon three (3) days prior to the new bid month Open Time is available for Flight Attendants to submit bids. At 18:00 each day Crew Scheduling will process the requests on file in seniority order.

ETCH Drop Folder

Commencing at noon on the 25th of each month, next month’s ETCH pairings can be posted to the folder. All ETCH pairings are required to be posted by 06:00 and must remain posted until 18:00. At 18:00 each day Crew Scheduling will process in seniority order requests meeting the timeline above. As the ETCH folder does not open until noon on the 25th, the earliest time/date for processing next month’s requests will be at 18:00 on the 26th. If a Flight Attendant posted a pairing in the ETCH Drop Folder and no one submits a request for this pairing, after 18:00 he/she must move the pairing into the “NANI and Cleared ETCH folder”. Please keep in mind due to the sheer volume of requests that processing times can take up to 2-3 hours.

Swaps with Open Time

All swaps will be processed at the same time as the Open Time award in seniority order. For all swap to requests FLICA will perform 2 analyses:

1) The number reserves available for the day(\(\(\(\(\(\(s) the trip being dropped into Open Time operates.

2) The number of pairings currently in Open Time operating over the period of time as the dropped pairing.If the number of reserves available is above the required number of reserves then the swap will be awarded, if not, then the swap will be denied.

The one exception to this rule is that FLICA has been set to also evaluate the number of reserves available on the day(\(\(\(\(\(\(s) the pairing being picked up. If the number of reserves overall places the Company in a better position then the swap will be approved. For example, let’s assume you are scheduled for a 2 day pairing on the 5th and 6th and are trying to swap this pairing with a 2 day pairing on the 8th and 9th. In analyzing the reserve availability the reserves on the 5thand 6th are at -10 (meaning we have less reserves than we require) which would normally result in a denial; however, on the 8th and 9th, the days you are picking up, the reserve availability is at -15 subsequently FLICA will approve this request as the overall reserve ability is better.

Drop to Open Time

You will now have the ability to drop pairings directly into Open Time. The process for approvals is identical to that of Swaps with Open Time and will be awarded in seniority order during the daily 18:00 Open Time award. We appreciate your patience as we worked through some of the processes that will hopefully make FLICA a successful and useful tool for you.

Subject: FLICA Real Time Goes Live

Over the past few months the Company has been diligently working with SABRE on programming and testing FLICA. We are pleased to announce that we are at a point where we are able to implement the first phase of automation which is “Real Time” Flight Attendant to Flight Attendant Trip Trades. This automation will be implemented at 12:00 (noon) on March 12, 2014 and allow the processing of two (2) types of trades:

1) Pairing for pairing;

2) Pairing drop to another crewmember (one-way trade), excluding ETCH drops.

The process for Segment Trades will remain the same as FLICA is unable to automate these requests. Requests submitted in the Segment Folder will initiate an alert to Crew Scheduling that a request needs their attention. Procedures for submitting Trip Trades can be found on the FLICA website. Should you have further questions please contact Greg Wickstrom at halflica@hawaiianair.com or Crew Scheduling at 808-838-5520. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this happen! Look for additional updates in the near future.
